Savage Opress was a Zabrak warrior from the planet Dathomir, initially a nightbrother. He was selected by the Nightsisters, a coven of witches, to be trained as a powerful weapon against the Jedi. Asajj Ventress, a Sith assassin, sought a strong apprentice to take revenge on her former master, Count Dooku.

The Nightsisters magically enhanced Savage's physical abilities and instilled in him a powerful rage. He was given to Ventress and trained in the dark side of the Force. However, his loyalty was ultimately to himself. He quickly became a volatile and uncontrollable force.

Driven by rage and ambition, Savage eventually betrayed both Ventress and Dooku. He sought to carve his own path and amass power for himself. He was briefly mentored by Darth Maul, who was later revealed to be his brother, and together they became a formidable threat to the Republic and the Separatists. He died in battle against Darth Sidious alongside his brother.
